Heirloom Chimayo chile can be traced back to the 17th-Century and continues to
be an integral historic tradition for the Chavez Family, 5 generation
farmers and ranchers living and breathing their Spanish heritage that still run strong more than 400 years after New Mexico was first colonized by Spain in 1598. Chimayo is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains at 6,000 ft and is excellent for cool climate farming.

studio. Both are award winning Santa Fe
Spanish Market Artists. Patricio is
an award-winner and renowned creator of unpainted bultos (three demention wood
carvings), and unpainted wood reliefs of Catholic religious figures also known
as santos (saints) and his wife, Shawna Lee an award-winner of retablos
(religious figures painted on wood panels).
